Gate Drill can help your putting | Golf Tips
Here is an oldie but goodie drill for putting that is making a big comeback, thanks to a company called Momentus. They make many well-made teaching aids for golfers of all abilities and ages.
This one is called the gate drill. If you don’t want to pay the $50 fee for the device itself, you can make your own for with some supplies you most likely already have.
Pictured on the left is a simple practice putting station with two golf tees and a string representing your line to the hole. On the right is the Momentus teaching aid that does the same thing.

Gimmies take away satisfaction of making putt for birdie
You’re playing with your regular foursome and hit a great iron shot up onto the green with your ball landing only two feet from the hole.
What do most weekend players do next? They walk up and knock the ball away, giving themselves the putt either before or after their partner said, “that’s good.”
Not only did you break a rule, but you’ll never know if you actually would have made the putt.
You’ll forever lose the satisfaction of making a real birdie since you didn’t actually putt the ball in the hole.
Golfers do this everywhere, on every course, and they’re breaking the rules every time they do it.

Golf tips from a pro
There is not much movement needed to make short putts, but we often leave the green with a sour taste because we miss one too many of them. The problem is we get so caught up in mechanics, that we forget how simple they really are.
The best way to start to make more short putts is to practice them and learn to free your mind. I’m going to give you a few drills and games that you can do to improve your putting.
* Place six tees surrounding the hole, about 2 feet from the hole. Play a putt from each spot until you can make them all in a row a couple of times. Then try to make them with your eyes closed. Listen, too. Hearing the ball going in the hole will help to build your confidence.

Golf tips: getting the kids started
It is definitely a great idea to get your kid or kids started out in this great game early and correctly.
It teaches them so many wonderful things like self control, honor, respect, teamwork, problem solving and the list goes on, and on.
Your child does not have to be the next great thing in the game, just get them started and just watch what happens.
You do not have to go to the golf course to work on this game with kids. Keep it fun, I would suggest getting them to enjoy putting first. Any decent simulated putting green will be fine.
Once they learn some basic rules and etiquette start taking them to your nearest driving range or par-three golf course to learn the full swing and how to play the game. If you are not sure of the basics yourself, get the “summary of the rules of golf” for juniors from the USGA or PGA. Your local pro can help you. Good luck and keep it simple.

Harrah’s slashes costs amid slowdown
Harrah’s Entertainment is continuing to cut jobs and capital expenditures as well as costs in corporate, marketing and purchasing to combat a decline in customer spending, company executives said Friday.
The world’s largest casino company by revenue on Friday posted a third-quarter loss due to the gaming slowdown on the Strip, decreased visitor numbers across the company’s 50 casinos and the closure of properties in the Gulf Coast because of hurricanes.
“To the degree revenues continue to decline, costs will have to continue to come down,” company Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Gary Loveman said during a conference call to review the company’s earnings. “To the degree we see further erosion of revenue, we’ll continue to aggressively respond with cost reduction.”

Which Are The Best Corporate Events For Business?
Making sure that you thank your staff properly every year and that you build good relationships with your clients. This has always been crucial for business. As a result there is an entire industry that is based around making sure that you provide excellent hospitality to people that you value in business and there are a number of Sports Events and Packages that are suitable for all types of occasions.
Because business can cater for people from all walks of life with a broad range of interests finding a corporate event for hospitality can be quite difficult. It has to be something that can be enjoyed by everyone regardless of their age, sex and interests. The best way to find a corporate event that appeases the interests of all of the people that you entertain is to pick something that enables a number of different activities in one event.
For example choose an event that can be enjoyed passively, that can involve people and at a place that serves good food and you will manage to keep event the most random group of people happy. Some of the best examples of this are sports events. This is because they typically allow people to watch sport which can be enjoyed by people regardless of whether they are into sport or not (the excitement of attending a big sports event is not lost on event the most sport fearing of people) and the best thing about sports events is that they invariably offer up great corporate facilities and fantastic food – great for those that really have no interest.
It is essential that you and your delegates enjoy your corporate Sports Events and if successful these events can reap great rewards for all involved. You can develop new friendships and enjoy a great day out. So what are some of the best sporting events that you could attend for a business hospitality day?
Horse Racing
A day at the races is a great day out regardless of whether you are a horse racing fan or not. It can be incredibly glamorous and exciting for people that make the most of the corporate facilities. The food that is served at the horse racing is incredible. The races is synonymous with high class entertainment and horse racing events are great places for hospitality and the food and beverages served at a big meet is second to none.
It is no wonder that horse racing is considered the ‘s port of kings’. There are hundreds of race meetings held every year across the UK but the best of these are the bigger events such as the Cheltenham National Hunt festival, the Aintree Grand National and the Royal Ascot event at Ascot. So if you want to wine and dine your delegates with high end entertainment then consider the horseracing as a great option for people with a diverse range of interests.
Cricket
Cricket might not be the first choice for people that are looking to host a corporate hospitality event but it would be wasteful not to consider it. I am not a cricket fan per say but I have to say that my trip to the cricket for a business event was one of the most enjoyable that I have ever attended. The cricket is a great sport that you can enjoy both actively and passively.
The hospitality suites provide wonderful food and drink and games provide a great atmosphere that will interest even those that don’t like cricket. The pace of the game allows time for you to chat to your business associates and build up relationships throughout the progress of a game.

After School Programs Information And Facts
How important is discipline when it comes to after school activity? Since most of the activities are recreational, does a program have to adhere to strict rules? Discipline is just as important here as it is in activities that pertain to the school. The child is sent to a program because you want him to learn more. Discipline in one form or the other is necessary to facilitate learning.
Other than safety, boredom and loneliness, the poor performance of many students also led to the need for after school activities that are based on the school curriculum. Children coming from low-income families were found to lag behind in reading and grammar after a long break in the summer. Statistics prove that if school-going children are left unsupervised after their school, the chances of poor grades and drop out are considerably
higher. The funds provided by the Government will allow rural and
inner-city schools to provide activities during the summer, over the weekends and after school. These activities will take place in a drug-free, safe and supervised environment.
Every after school activity should begin by laying down the rules. The supervisor or teacher should explain each rule and can thus prevent future mishaps. Misbehavior should be addressed as and when it occurs. Deal with the problem in such a manner that it causes the least disruption. It is unwise to turn a blind eye to misbehavior because it catches on like fire, and soon you will have a bunch of unruly children on your hands. Besides, however much they resist it, children like to operate within the safety
net of strict guidelines and rules.Obviously, school is top priority for children. They need to go to school, and finish their homework. They should then do their daily reading or
writing work etc. This may take about 30-60 minutes. In the course of his daily work, your child may develop certain academic preferences and interests. In that case, you can try and find a program in a college or a community center that will help him and encourage him. In the age of the
Internet, information is really not a rarity. Allow him to use the net to find more information about thing that he likes. Encouraging the child to do independent research to gain in-depth knowledge is something that no formal program does
Parents should however restrain themselves from reading too much into these activities. After school programs are complimentary in nature. They give additional support. Therefore, their importance should also be limited.
Camping: Six Basic Guidelines
Are you one of those people who like me can’t afford a vacation abroad? Or at least not as often as you’d like. Fear not, there are some great alternatives and one of them is to go on a Camping Trip!
This will allow you to spend time in nature as well as discover new places.
Basic Camping Safety Tips
Camping can be great fun, but the basics are often overlooked. Follow these 6 essential camping tips and you’re off to a good start!
Let someone know where you’re going – An accident in the middle of nowhere can turn out really bad if nobody knows where you are, or that you’re missing in the first place. “Jimmy wasn’t at Karate today? He’s probably out sick” – meanwhile Jimmy broke 2 legs in the middle of nowhere with no rescue in sight.
Bring Water – Water, the building blocks of life. You would be surprised how many people tend to oversee the fact that a lot of campgrounds don’t have running water (unless you consider a river running water). It is highly advisable to take at least 2 five-gallon containers with drinking water when spending more than a few days out in the outdoors. A few gallons will do if you’re only going for 1 or 2 days.
Bring Food – Bring your own food as not every campsite has a store, some not even without an hour’s driving range. Nuts, beef jerky, dried fruit, as well as high energy bars are your best choice because they are high in nutrients but light in weight. See the beginner’s guide to camping for more “what food to bring”-tips.
Don’t take risks when it comes to mother Nature – The sky might be clear and temperatures might be comfortable today, but that can change overnight or even within hours. Before going on a camping trip, check the weather forecast. It would suck to have nasty weather ruin your camping trip wouldn’t it?
Bring Extra Clothing – If you’ve ever experienced hypothermia you know how terrible it is. You can get it very easily by running around in wet clothes. So bring extra clothes just in case you get caught in a storm. Don’t forget to put your spare clothes in a WATERPROOF bag too.
These tips barely scratch the surface of a safe camping trip. You can find details as well as additional tips on camping safety, planning a camping trip, what to pack, what tent to bring on my camping safety-site.
Your Free Guide with Info About What To Eat While Camping
What To Eat While Camping
One of the most fun times you can have while camping is cooking for the group. Cooking is generally done over a fire or on a grill. You should bring foods that are easy to store and keep fresh. You should include snacks for the trail as well as foods to prepare for each meal. Perishable items should be stored in a refrigerator or in a cooler on ice.
Breakfast
Start your day off right with a breakfast that will get you ready for a day of hiking or exploring. Slice up some mushrooms, onions, bacon and potatoes and grill in a skillet over the fire until done. Mix eggs with a little milk and pour over the mixture to heat until the eggs are fully cooked. This is a great skillet meal that is easy to prepare and clean up. Another easy meal to prepare is a breakfast taco. Cook some eggs and place inside a tortilla with cheese and picante sauce. If you feel a bit more adventurous, try a breakfast pizza using pre made crusts and eggs. You can cook the eggs any way you like them and add bacon, potatoes or sausage. Heat the pizza crusts over the fire and top with your egg mixture and cheese.
Lunch
Sandwiches are a great lunchtime treat using easy to store and prepare foods. Sliced lunch meats with vegetables on bread make the perfect pick me up. For a hot side dish to accompany the sandwiches take some frozen French fries, chili and cheese sauce; combine them in foil, wrapping it tightly. Throw the package on the fire and cook until the fries are cooked through and then enjoy your gooey chili cheese fries.
Dinner
Dinner consisting of a hearty stew is a great option. Using canned vegetables, mix equal parts of your favorites in a heavy pot. These can include corn, peas and beans. Also add a can of chunk chicken and pre made barbecue pork. Add two cans of tomato sauce and two cans of chopped tomatoes and simmer slowly over an open fire for a filling stew. If you went fishing and were lucky enough to make a catch, fry it for dinner. After cleaning the fish, cut it into fillets. Combine one can of beer with two eggs until thoroughly mixed. To that add twelve ounces of flour, two teaspoons of baking powder and salt and pepper to taste. Dip the fish in cornstarch then the batter. Place it in hot oil and fry until the batter puffs. This is a great way to enjoy the efforts put forth after a day of fishing.
Trail Snacks
No camping trip is complete without snacks to prepare and bring while you are out on a nature hike. Walking and hiking is hard work so you should bring some foods that will help boost your energy. Popcorn popped over an open flame is a fun way to prepare the next day’s snack. Trail mix is a traditional option and is limited to only your imagination. Use a combination of hearty ingredients with sweets. Combine granola, raisins, chocolate chips, M & M’s, cereal, dried fruits and nuts. Use whatever combinations you like.
My favorite camping meals though, are made with pudgie pie makers (also called pie irons). They are made of cast iron or metal and have long handles. Our family uses pudgie pie makers to meal delicious treats for lunch and dinner. Bread is the staple ingredient in making a pudgie pie. My favorite is grilled cheese. To make one, butter two slices of bread. Place the buttered side down in the pudgie pie maker. This will prevent the bread from sticking. Place a cheese slice on top of each slice of bread. Close the pudgie pie maker. Place in the coals of your campfire. It will only take a few minutes for the pie to cook. Turn the pie maker after about a minute. Depending on how hot your fire is, the sandwich will cook very quickly. Ham and tomato are also very good additions to your cheese sandwich.
Pizza pudgie pies are popular with our family too. Again, butter two slices of bread and place the buttered side down in the pudgie pie maker. Add your favorite pizza toppings. Close the pudgie pie maker and place in the coals of your campfire to cook. Be careful when removing pudgie pies from your pudgie pie maker. Both the pudgie pie maker and your sandwich will be very hot.
Another favorite type of pudgie pie that our family enjoys are dessert ones. Butter your two slices of bread and place the buttered sides down in the pudgie pie maker. Spoon in some of your favorite prepared pie filling (cherry or apple are our favorites). Cook in the fire and enjoy.
And of course, no camping trip is complete without making smores. They’re also very easy to make. Start by roasting a marshmallow over your fire. Once your marshmallow is warm and gooey, stick it on top of a graham cracker and a piece of a chocolate bar, and then top with another graham cracker.
Cooking while camping can really be a lot of fun. Preparing foods should be easy and require little clean up and use few pots and pans. At the end of the night, though, no camping trip would be complete without toasting marshmallows. Cut some branches and skewer large marshmallows. Hold each stick over the flame until brown and toasty. It makes a great, gooey dessert and an ideal end to your day.

golf Tips For Beginners
Beginner Golf Lessons
If you are a beginner golfer just starting out you will need some basic lessons. You will first need to find someone who can show you the basics, such as a golf instructor. A golf instructor will teach and help you to learn about the game of golf before you actually play a real game. Beginner golf lessons should teach you how to swing a golf club. Practicing golf swings can better prepare you for playing golf. Learning all the basics of golf will get you ready for the real thing. You can learn basics by watching golf on television and on videos. Putting is a good place for beginners to get started. It will give you the feel for your swing and for hitting the ball. You can practice your aiming skills when you are putting. After putting it may be easier for you to learn how to use your other clubs. You will learn your own style when putting.
When having beginner golf lessons you will need to learn about gripping your club. Your club should be comfortable for you to hold. This is the important no matter how you decide to grip the club. Every person will have their own way of doing this and they may have more than one grip that they use. Your stance is very important and will be different for everyone. You will have your own style and it should feel right to you. When you stroke the putter you should use your entire body including your hands, arms and shoulders to do this, moving all at once. Practicing putting can build your confidence to learn other Golf equipment techniques. Keep everything as simple as it can be in the beginning until you catch on better later.
Chipping will be a lot like putting. You will swing your entire body just like you do when you are putting. The difference is you will use a different club and the ball will be leaving the ground and going into the air. Practicing putting and chipping can help you to build a stronger foundation. When you go to try a full swing make sure that you align your golf club and your body up in the right position. Then this will allow your body to have a naturally flowing swing. Aligning your club up to your target properly will help you to get an easier more accurate swing. It is important to remember when chipping one of the most important parts of the swing is getting underneath the ball with just enough force to get it into the air. You do not want to use too much strength unless your ball is buried halfway into the sand.
There is really no right or wrong way to swing a golf club. Just so you are comfortable with the way that you do it. With everybody having a different body structure the way they play golf will be their own style and different from someone else’s. You can still learn the basics of playing and just play your own way. The main thing is to put the ball in the hole and however it works for you is the right way.

Carbon Poker Review
Cake Poker Room Poker entered the world of online poker in 2005 and has had a mediocre growth ever since. The Cake Poker team has great ambitions however and can achieve great things if they play their cards right. The traffic is rather low, but the positive development of quality tournaments is likely going to make things better. As for variety, there’s not much to add other than the usual Hold’em, Omaha and 7 Card Stud. If you are a person who enjoys collecting items, this portal is definitely interesting due to the Gold Card program, which can earn you a total of $52,000. All in all, Cake Poker is an online poker room with potential, but if you’re looking for a trafficated poker room site, then look at our higher-ranked rooms.
Software (9)
The software of Cake Poker Room is as realistic as it can get without taking the whole 3D feeling too far. The first thing you will notice at the table is that every character is actually a photographed model. The graphics resemble what we’re used to at PokerRoom, but with greater variation; you can choose between several avatars and let them sit at any chair. Other table features include the usual, such as player notes and visual customizations. As far as the lobby goes, things have improved significantly since the launch. At first glance, we disliked the looks and the functionality, but we have given the software some time to mature – and it has.
Traffic (7)
Every new room that is on proprietary software and a closed network requires a few years of growth before we are fully satisfied with the user traffic. During peak hours, Cake has over 2000 connected players. Cake Poker is unfortunately not idealistic for people who demand a large traffic flow. That does not mean you won’t get any action, but at certain medium and high stakes, you will notice familiar names more often than you should.
Tournaments (7)
Despite the low traffic, Cake Poker puts quite a lot of effort into tournaments with guaranteed cash prizes as well as satellites. It is far from what a network like PokerStars can offer, but for the casual tournament player, this will do more than well.
Game Variety (7)
Cake Poker offers the typical line-up of poker game modes. The most prominent one is obviously Texas Hold’em with No Limit, Pot Limit and Fixed Limit. Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 Card Stud and 7 Card Stud Hi/Lo is available, but we’re missing turbo action.
Soft Competition (9)
New poker rooms often attract the loose players who tend to fit in the fish category quite well. Cake Poker’s common player is no exception. Even $1/$2 tables reveal players per flop as high as 60 % and beyond. The low stake play is very loose as it always is, but never above 80 %.
Sign Up Bonus (9)
EveryPoker.com and Cake Poker are offering a sign up bonus worth a total of $750. The deposit match is at 100% and it is very easy to claim. To get the full bonus, you are required to deposit $500 using Cake Poker bonus code free750. As an added bonus, our visitors are also awarded an entry to our exclusive $250 freeroll (password: everypoker). Every month, the winner of this freeroll gets a ticket to the $50,000 Guaranteed tournament, plus a share of the $250 prizepool. The freeroll is scheduled at 6pm EST on the last Sunday of every month.
Loyalty Rewards (7)
Cake Poker offers a unique Gold Card lottery, which is basically a small amount of golden cards handed out every day to every player who is participating at the real money ring games and tournaments. If you get a card, you can redeem this for tournaments, merchandise or keep it and collect all 52 cards and receive $52,000. Cake Poker also hands out what’s equivalent to frequent player points. You earn Cake Slices by participating in real money games. The more you make, the bigger rewards you get.
Promotions (9)
You can own a piece of Cake Poker for life, simply by winning one of the few one-percent shares of Cake Gaming N.V. This is potentially worth millions of dollars in a few years. Other than that, you can participate in small freerolls and friend referral programmes.
Support (6)
Cake Poker offers a basic FAQ and e-mail support. We’re not really expecting a small poker room like CakePoker to offer telephone support or a live chat, but this has grown into a standard nowadays. On the other hand, you get a fast reply and usually very useful information in the mail.
Deposit & Cashout Methods (7)
Deposits: Neteller, instaCash, Visa, Visa Electron and MasterCard.
Cash-outs: Neteller.

Daniel Negreanu: Don’t sweat the small stuff at the poker table
I like to peruse the Full Contact Poker online forums to read and comment on posts about interesting poker hands and whether they were played properly. I find that many of the contributors consistently suffer from the same problem: They are far too preoccupied with statistically insignificant aspects of a poker hand.
My point is that the minor details of many poker hands are often unimportant and simply not worthy of in-depth analysis. Worrying about these insignificant details won’t have much effect on your bankroll at the end of the year.
The best way to improve your poker game is to focus on the important aspects of the game, like eliminating big mistakes. Instead, I see too many players fretting about whether they are a 56.2 percent favorite or a 51.8 percent favorite.

Great Looking And Affordable Sports Merchandise
Quite a few non sports fans the world over who regard sports memorabilia as a complete waste of cash and space, and a visual burden to boot. In any case, sports fans would disagree adamantly. There are quite a number of of sports logo products out there apart from the more common merchandise such as NFL football helmets or NHL hockey jerseys. And many are unexpectedly useful too.
Men are mainly the perpetrators when it comes to taking it to the extreme with their popular sports memorabilia collection. Wives and girlfriends of such fans have had to endure the gradual but sure relinquishment of the living room and den area every time a new MLB, NHL, NFL or NBA season gets under way.
The only types of sports merchandise that used to adorn the walls of bedrooms and living rooms were team banners, framed team uniforms and miniature or authentic collectors fitted caps.
But there is hope. There are in fact many useful sports memorabilia out there that do more than simply take up space.
People will now know what team a fan supports even before they go in the house, thanks to a door mat with the team emblem on it. Looking at the door, they may note another clue in the form of a team item door knocker.
Team logo items such as throw pillows, hanging lamps, fireplace screens and bean bags are now easily found in many living rooms of sports fans.
Logo memorabilia such as chopping boards, glass sets, and of course the ever popular die cut refrigerator magnets are now used daily in the modern kitchen.
These items better designed to blend in with everything else. They are now subtly designed to blend right in with the rest of the items of the living room. Some of the time the team name is only printed in just a single color or the team emblem is limited to a certain size.
For those who are tech savvy, there are even team paraphernalia LCD monitors and mobile phone covers. What might they think of next?
Actually, there are still a lot everyday items that could still be turned into useful team logo items. Think about what you use everyday and or what merchandise you would like to see your favorite team’s logo on. Team logo wallpaper for the kids room would be ideal to help give junior a lead at supporting daddy’s favorite team. Everyday household team logo merchandise could include soap on a rope, shaving cartridges and even shower curtains. Maybe one fine day, one of your creations might end up being an official NFL merchandise. The possibilities are limitless.
